Getting In
We recommend flying into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
There are lots of ways to get to downtown! There are several car rental options, taxis, and Lyft and Uber are relatively inexpensive.
LA is sprawling and, though our traffic gets a bad (but correct) rap, car is still the most efficient way to get around. As you may have heard from the hit Ashford & Simpson’s bop, “Nobody Walks in L.A.” so renting a car is a good option if you plan on doing any sightseeing!
Where to Stay
The Hotel Figueroa
939 S. Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, California 90015
This is where we are having our room block, with a limited number of rooms available at a discount. Please use our discount link here to book. Please book as soon as possible for the best rates and availability as rooms are limited.
Our wedding venue is a measly 4 blocks away - so if you’re staying there, it’s just a quick jaunt (contrary to the previous note that “Nobody Walks in L.A.”)! We’ll also be hosting the after-party at the hotel’s poolside bar, The Casita, as well as our Sunday goodbye brunch.
Aside from being convenient to our venue, this hotel is both historic and extraordinarily beautiful. A home to artists and adventurous women for nearly a century, this hotel was the first lodging in LA that would allow women to check-in without a man present. It became a rallying (and partying) spot for feminists and LGBTQIA+ folks in the midcentury and recently had a beautiful renovation to modernize while retaining its unique LA history & architecture.
Truly, it’s the coolest and it’s where we’ll be staying.
AirBnB or VRBO
If you’re planning a longer sight-seeing stay, a vacation rental is your best bet for a good deal.
For those who have never been, LA is very large and Downtown isn’t necessarily your best option for a centralized home-base. Mid-Wilshire is a great neighborhood that allows you to scoot between Hollywood to Venice, Downtown to Culver City with as much ease as possible (and you can complain about traffic like a real Angeleno)!
